📖 User Guide: Image Resolution & Crop Tool

Welcome to the Image Resolution & Crop Tool! This interactive tool lets you easily crop unwanted edges from an image and dynamically scale its dimensions—all with real-time feedback and dynamic previews.

🚀 Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Upload Your Image

1. Click on the Upload Area (or drag and drop an image file into the box).
2. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, WebP.
3. Once uploaded, your original resolution and estimated file size will be displayed at the top.

🛠️ Feature Overview

The tool is split into two interconnected tabs: 1. Resize & Scale and 2. Crop Region.

1️⃣ Tab 1: Resize & Scale

Use this tab to change the target width, height, and overall scale percentage of your image.

• Scale Resolution Slider: Drag left or right to quickly scale the image down or up
• Exact Width & Height Inputs: Type exact pixel dimensions directly into the Width (px) or Height (px) fields.
• Aspect Ratio Lock (🔒 / 🔓):
  • When Locked (🔒), changing width automatically updates height (and vice-versa) to prevent stretching.
  • Click to Unlock (🔓) if you want custom, non-proportional dimensions.
• Preset Buttons : Quickly apply standard scale ratios in one click.

💡 Visual Crop Indicator: If you cropped edges in Tab 2, a green highlighted box on the live preview will show the exact region being resized.

2️⃣ Tab 2: Crop Region

Use this tab to chop off unwanted margins from any side of the image using individual position sliders.

• Top Crop Slider: Drags down from the top edge to trim headers or unwanted top spacing.
• Bottom Crop Slider: Drags up from the bottom edge to trim footers or watermarks
• Left Crop Slider: Drags in from the left margin
• Right Crop Slider: Drags in from the right margin
• Touch / Drag Overlay: On mobile devices or touchscreens, you can also drag the highlighted blue crop box directly on the preview image.
• Reset Crop Box: Click this button anytime to restore the crop area back to 100 full frame.

🔗 Interlinked Workflow (How Crop + Scale Work Together)

The two tabs work hand-in-hand to ensure exact results:

1. Crop First (Optional): Switch to Crop Region and adjust the sliders to isolate your desired target area.
2. Resize Second: Switch to Resize & Scale. The tool automatically calculates the new cropped base dimensions and allows you to scale that exact cropped region to any size you need!

Download Format Selector: Choose your preferred output format:

JPG / JPEG: Best for photographs and smaller file sizes (adds a clean white background if transparent).

PNG: Best for graphics, logos, and images requiring transparency.
